Why was everyone born in January? This is always a high stress period of the year because so many people were born in January: Mother, friends, housemates, journal co-editors ! When will it stop. Clearly April was a happening month in the late seventies, early eighties.

You know my teeth are kind of hurting right now. It's too bad I don't live in Vancouver, British Columbia because then I could go see Dr. Y. Vincent Yoshida, who is an excellent dentist with a dedicated team of professionals at your service for all your dental needs. But alas...

celebrity shout-out

Oh, the perils of blogging...just got a shout-out, well actually AMT got a shout-out from J. Kelly Nestruck on my blog...which means I am adding a new resolution not to blog full names of people I don't know (who are not celebrities).

In other news, do you know that Hawksley Workman is a superstar in France ? like Justin Timberlake-style. I find this amusing, don't you ?

AMTALERT

Our lawn is green and it is raining. This is very unwintery and franky, quite dreary. I suspect I will have to have my yearly conversation with the neighbour about global warming soon.

In other news, I am seeking hospitality in Toronto sometime in the early part of January in order to be able to see the AMTSTER. But not during the AMT Montreal blackout period, of course. I suppose I'm putting the cart before the horse by not checking AMT's exact plans pre-lodging request but hopefully this will work itself out.

I think, either today or the nineteenth is Melanie's birthday so I may be sending a pre-emptive shout-out. But better to have shout-outed out early then never to have shouted-out at all, am I right ?? Of course, I am. In other news, there is no news except for the likely meet-up with Laurk later on in the week. Woot !

a thousand words

Aargh... so there seems to be a conspiracy against me taking pictures because everytime I make plans to share with the world my photographic goodness I am plagued by a) forgetting the camera b) having the battery mess up... it's really quite awful. I have lots of pictures of my room and my mom and empty fruitopia bottles in various lighting schemes and very few pictures of actual people and places I enjoy...

Also, I'm desperate for batteries. All my new gadgets are very battery intensive. I got the rechargeable kind but I can only find one at a time in usual fred fashion. Bah... These batteries are like my mad consumerism always being refilled but never satiated...

Remember all I will be in Toronto Nov. 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th so I insist that we get together and have a good time. I'm free all day Sunday, I will be free after 8 on Monday and after 4 on Tuesday so Toronto peeps, let's party or something...I haven't seen Melanie in a year and this will be remedied hopefully !

All Points Bulletin

Er, favour to be asked. What happened to Melanie ? I haven't heard from her since pre-Jamboree. She has fallen off the face of the planet. Except for the fact that I hear about her fun escapades with everyone. I know she is internet deficient which drastically reduces my chances of getting in touch with anyone but if you see her tell her fred says hi what's up ? Does she have a phone number ? This is how it starts people. First, you lose touch with a friend for six weeks. Next thing you know, you're alone and friendless, working as a shady immigration lawyer from an office above a Harvey's, living a tragic hermit/spinster existence, buoyed only by your crafts and your Star Trek:Voyager slash fiction. We can't let that happen.
